Untitled (6/10/10)

July 6, 2010

this easy, easy love
how it tries to rear its head,
to be pet easily with just satisfaction,
riding low and long

between the bars that promise
whole gentle dreams within,
each one turning after
to a slow limping hum,

lulling me with soft lips
sighing louder all the time,

so much lighter than what i
can see or taste, no faults obvious
and bare, loosed onto worries and
anxious shelter

no breezy smiles so hard to keep in place
with flooding doubt and shame
to break the likely trust

i don’t have to bite down hard on swallowed charms,

only live in the stillness of comfort,
and bottomless grace

that fills me with an intimate fear
that knows me without names
